Help and support

Support VA Companion

VA Companion is free to register and use, and desktop licensing is no charge for registered members. Voluntary support helps offset the real cost to develop, host, maintain, update, and improve the project.

Project context

An individual project for fellow veterans and dependents.

VA Companion is by James Brown, a service-connected disabled Marine Corps veteran who has been through the process personally, with his spouse, and while helping many fellow veterans navigate the same maze.

Contact VA Companion

For account help, desktop licensing questions, provider updates, bug reports, accessibility issues, or general feedback, email admin@vacompanion.us. You do not need to be registered to contact VA Companion.

Registration Help

Use the website account section to create an account, sign in, reset a password, manage saved tools, and view desktop license activity.

Desktop Licensing

Open License & Updates in the desktop app and sign in with the same VACompanion.us member account. Members can normally keep two active personal computers.

Replacing a Computer

Retire the old computer from the member dashboard if possible, then activate the replacement machine. If you know the old machine ID, include it in the replacement request.

Bug Reports

Use the desktop app's About & Help tools for prepared support emails and diagnostic exports. Review everything before sending and remove private data you do not intend to share.

Provider and Community Updates

Submit provider leads, CHAMPVA corrections, accredited-person entries, DBQ practice questions, and forum content through the website so they can be reviewed.

Voluntary Support

Support is appreciated but never required for website membership, desktop licensing, updates, public tools, or community access.

Safety boundaries

Keep private information out of support messages unless it is truly needed.

Do not send VA.gov passwords, Login.gov passwords, ID.me passwords, MFA codes, cookies, session tokens, SSNs, VA claim numbers, full medical records, claim documents, browser-extension records, desktop database files, vault contents, or private payment memo details unless VA Companion specifically asks for a reviewed diagnostic item.
